A program which has been providing high school students with someone to turn to if they are being bullied or in a conflict for the last 10 years, has received a very special donation.
Former owner of the Blades Jack Brodsky and his family have made a $100,200 donation to the Restorative Action Program.
RAP began 10 years ago as a Rotary initiative at Mount Royal Collegiate and now serves 7 different high schools in the city.
Being a Rotarian himself, Brodsky has experienced the growth and success of the program, calling the donation a no brainer.
Executive Director Winston Blake says Brodsky’s donation will ensure the financial stability of the program for the future.
Last year the program helped 850 individual students; that is 17% of the total number of students enrolled in the high schools RAP serves.
