How do you define community? It could be the neighbourhood you live in, your peers at school, the people who attend the same religious institution as you, people who hold similar interests to you or the people you work alongside.
Those may be the groups of people that you associate with, but how does the communication work within those communities and how is conflict resolved? Are they healthy, prosperous communities or merely a group defined by geo-graphic location or affiliated interests?

One community that we have all belonged to is the school community. Whether elementary, high school or post-secondary we can all say that, at one point or another, we have had a place in this community. Some of us are still active as educators, parents, board members and volunteers, but do we really remember how the time spent as a student shaped the rest of our lives? Our
social interactions were defined at school and a major aspect of that was how we managed conflict.
